This view of Champion's Dock (also known as Merchant's Dock) shows the great floating dock at Hotwell's in Bristol. There are paddle steamers moored behind the seated gentleman wearing a top hat. Beyond the wall is asquare rigger in dry dock. If Calvert Jones did take this photograph then there is a possibility that the seated gentleman is William Henry Fox Talbot.
